Hari ini hari sabtu bersamaan 23 April 2011..Alhamdulillah suma exam sudah habis 21hb lg..cuma keputusan exm clinic & viva bru dpt smlm...Syukur dgn keputusan yg dpt even x la pass suma (nada sedih tp sedar slh sndri xstdy psl hearing aids...dushhh2x tmpar pipi sndri)

Hmm..mmg dh terasa kna repeat viva even akak senior, kwn2 n adk bg smgt ckp insyaAllah ak akan pass dgn cemerlang..buwekkk ak sndri yg rasa sebenarnya ak xmampu pass viva..betul la rasa hati tu tak boleh nk tipu..biar org ckp cmne pn kita sndri yg rasa semua tu..

Sebenarnya kalau ak rajin nk je ak cerita suma psl viva thesis defense, exm clinic, viva clinic..hihi bknnya apa..nk simpan sebagai kenangan..mana la tau 10 taun ni baca blk entry2 ni teringt gelak sorg2 pastu ckp dlm diri teruknya dulu npe xjwb cmtu npe xbuat cmni..haha ppl always like dats..once they do a mistakes and realized it after that, they improved a lot actually..senang ckp apa yg jadi skrg ni pasti ada hikmahnya..so ak redha kna repeat clinic..so kna blk lewat lg 2, 3 hari..apa la sgt if nk compare dgn ilmu yga kutip bila stdy blk suma2 notes clinic..ak mmg confiden pasni dpt jwb ngn cemerlang..tggu 5/5/2011 ya!!!

Hmm..skrg ni dlm proses membetulkan thesis..x byk sgt pn dh ni..after one week dh boleh antar & bind hardcover..owh xsabar tggu saat2 itu!!harus upload pic thesis berkaler hijau tua tu nt..ni MESTI!!!so doakan ak dpt siapkn correction dlm masa 5 hari (target awal dr 7 hari) sbb pastu ak nk pulun stdy notes psl audiology...eventhough lecturer ckp viva lg sush dr repeat clinic + viva..ak lg hepi dr buat blk clinic..skrg ni suma bergantung jepada kepakaran ak menjawab & ilmu yg ada..so harus stdy suma yg ada kaitan psl audiology..

Ok then, wish me luck ppl!!!

Hmm..sudah lama tidak mencoret sesuatu di sini..Aku suka menulis sbb dn menulis terasa otak bergerak lebih cepat dr tgn yg menaip..yela kn dh guna keyboard xkn la nk sebut menulis ngn pensil guna keyboard..sgguh pelik bunyinya..ok abaikan bnda yg x pnting..

Aku nk btau lani ak dh last stage of final sem ..owh harap2 semuanya berakhir dgn cemerlang dan gemilang (cpt tadah tgn dan aminkan)...opss ini tu motto yg diguna pkai pak lah dulu2 ye..xda kaitan pn..hahaa

Ok la hmm perasan bila sndri handle ngn research cm serik plak nk smbung bljr based on research..rasa coursework lg sng kot..bljr n exm n clinical ok lg dr research yg nk cri point tuk discussion siap msk lam mimpi xlena tido..owh pyschoo!!!

Ok cukup xnk dh sebut pasal research buat sementara waktu sbb esok kna antar soft binding..and then 2 weeks ada viva thesis defense..harus cuak sebut ada external examiner..rasanya external examiner ni plg scary antara semua kot..owh semoga permudahkan laluan terakhir ni..

Tak sngka da nk abis kn..dulu masa 1st yr duk kuantan rasa cm lama sgt lg nk grad..4 taun bkn tempoh yg singkat..tp skrg suma tu dah berlalu..aku akan rindu kuantan lama2 nt...rindu sbb senang nk p mkn2 n tgk wyg.hahaha gler xsenonoh ak ni...hahahahaa

Alhamdulillah sudah byk urusan yg selesai 2 mggu lepas..hmm sebagai pelajar semester akhir..ak rasa hidup ak skrg tunggang langgang dh (btl x ejaan tu??)..huhu sumanya gara2 nk siapkn research dan menduduki peperiksaan akhir.owh harus cuak dr skrg even study tuk clinical exam x seberapa lg..sumanya sbb kna tumpukn untuk research written dulu..

Bercakap mengenai research, jumaat lepas ak telah berjaya melalui presentation yg membuatkn ak xlena tdo even dh tdo awal giler mlm sebelum tu..hahaha nk wt cmna ak spesis tdo awal...sabar jela ak jd org yg kedua terakhir present..suma pn dh xlarat nk dgr tmbah2 session ak ptg lg la ngntuk.wuhuhu dh abis present ada 2 mggu tuk betulkn suma draft chpter b4 hantar tuk final draft chpter..so skrg bertungkus lumus lg depan lptop nk siapkn suma tu..tak lupa jgak mggu hadapan ada mock interview..wuhuhuuu bertambah la cuak walaupun bkn interview btl..

Wahh..sy sgt gembira harini.Alhamdulillah progress research dah masuk peringkat analyze data via SPSS..hihi sgt2 seronok kerana pg td semangat gler stdy ttg analysis yg nk guna tuk my research..before ni pn dh sv dh btau kna guna Repeated Measure Annova tp ak xbape nk fhm sgt sbb masa taun lepas xbuat praktikal pn psl tajuk tu..

Hihi..pg td (guna instinct je redah blk Dr dgn harapan Dr ada..dhla xmsg Dr nk buat appt).Ak jmpa Dr yg ajar ak psl statistics masa ak 3rd year dulu..Hmm memula ak smpi tu dlm kul 8.45am..Blk Dr gelap lg..ak ingt Dr ada kelas la kot..sedih dh kena jmpa Dr hari lain..Ak pn tulis la note kt Dr nk jmpa rabu ptg sbb tym tu ak free.Sbb ptg ni ada kelas, esok pg plak exm..huhu ngn muka yg cm xmood je ak pn trun la lif..masa dh kt ground floor ak kuar nmpk Dr nk naik lif tu..haha trus ak msk blk lif tu ckp;

Doc ckp tggu 5 min jap sbb dia nk msk ofis dulu..Bgus kn ak tggu lcturer awal sbb nk jmpa..haha perasan salu ak ni..klu ngn sv ak salu lewat 5 min xpn sv ak sndri lewat dr ak..hahaha ni lg perangai xelok..bukan salu pn kdg2 je sbb ada hal lg penting

Hmm...bila dh jmpa Dr tu ak terang la apa objektif research ak nk buat..Dr sgt bgus explain kt ak satu2..habis semua ak tnya,,ak siap buat depan beliau lg 1 objektif research ak..kira nk konfem btl2 ak tau buat la ni.hehe..byk gak la ak tnya..smpai ak btl2 puas ati..dr ckp ila dh siap analyze data boleh emel kt dia trus nt dia chck..yea2x!!!part tu ak mmg suka..kalau salah boleh la dr betulkn terus..hihi

So arini ak dh berjaya belajar cara nk analyze data guna RM ANNOVA...spoil la exm esok..klu x skrg ak dh boleh analyze dat..yela otak tgh fresh lg belajar bnda bru..harus kna apply trus..pening ayat ak tunggang langgang arini...haha btw kepala ak mkin ok even rasa sengal2 lg ni..ahh ak mls kisah ke sakit ni..mak ak ckp klu skit wt xtau je lama2 otak x fokus kat sakit tu nt sakit tu baik dgn sndri..hihi ciplak teori mak ak..tp mmg btl pn..u think wt u're..so I think I'm WINNER now!!!!(perasan la kau..prg len dh buat draft discussion dh)..

What is ABR???

Hehe..excited sgt2 arini sebab tepat jam 11.50 mlm td ak berjaya habiskn run data tuk subjek research ak sebanyak 20 org..haha kurasakan 20 org tu mcm 200 org tau x sbb bkn senang nk run data yg complicated, pastu tiap2 second kna check wave ada ke x..huhu sorry la klu x fhm,,saje nk membebel pg2 buta ni..

Hehe..disebabkn ak dh abis run data, ak skrg ni dlm stage menyiapkn draft chapter 2 & chapter 3 tuk research ak.adoii dh lama terbengkalai keja ak ni gara2 prob data research corrupt sbb msk dlm pendrve..huhu bru mggu lepas dpt detect bnda ni..punya la lmbt gler..ptt la certain subjek wave dia lgsg xleh nk view..uhuukk klu ak resolved prob ni awal2 sure tym cuti sem aritu siap dh ak nyr run data..adoii dugaan2!!!skrg ni ak nk kna buat table tuk sng ak ngn supervisor ak nk tgk dlm bape seconds ABR wave tu akan muncul..

Hypothesis semakin cepat masa detect, semakin bgus la stimulus tu digunakan untuk testing auditory function of baby.Yela kita tau kn bby cepat meragam, klu nk buat pape test pn kna buat quick & reliable..so klu dr research ak ni hypothesis ini berjaya mknanya dpt kurangkn masa tuk test dgn guna stimulus tersebut..

Haha..kemain ak explain ntah phm ke tidak tu..pong pang pong pang saja pn xguna gak.bek ak guna figure nk explain semua bnda ini..hihi ok check it out!!!

Ok..this is picture of Automated Auditory Brainstem Response (AABR) test..Usually this test was done for newborn babies with high risk factors of hearing loss such jaundice that require exchange transfusion (tukar darah),premature baby, very low birth weight and so on so forth.It easY to use for everybody with special training most people able to run this test.It works as screening tool to detect whether baby have problem with hearing or not..As name is screening tool we can expect this test use PASS and REFER result. PASS meaning that baby have no problem regarding hearing but REFER means baby have problem and need to proceed with diagnostic ABR..The advantage of using this test are quick,low cost and no need audiologst to run the test. However, it have low sensitivity and specificity cause it's easy to get REFER result due to ear wax in the canal.

Thus to overcome it, we can use diagnostic ABR..For diagnostic ABR, the function still similar to previous AABR.In contrast, in this test we need an expert audiologist to run this test cause it need their evaluation to detect waveform of the ABR.Whereas in AABR the machine run it automatically..The main point here, i wanna said that my research is based on diagnostic ABR.

This is how was the look like of the baby that undergone ABR test..This test is a non-responsive hearing test where no need for baby to respond towards sound.We need to scrub away debris at the certain part of baby skin such as at high forehead, forehead, the back of the mastoid right and left ear..Then, attached with electrode that connect it to the computer to run the test.Besides, put an earphone to the baby's ears where the stimulus will give a sound to baby ears. When it happen, the auditory function will stimulate the sound and respond from the auditory nerve will be converted into certain waveform which is called ABR waveform..Thus, my research is dealing with ABR waveform now and there.

That is the simplified version of how electrode will be connected to the computer for auditory nerve response to sound.

This is the example of ABR waveform that one will produce once complete the test.Certain wave represent certain anatomical sites of ABR generator of auditory nerve.

Actually, to run the test the have certain criteria that need to be met. For instance, we need to check the electrical impedance (high electrical impedance cause distorted waveform), quite environment means very low external and internal noise as well as types of stimulus and parameters settings. In my research, i deal with stimulus factors. Stimulus means the types of sound you give to the patient to hear. Usually audiologist will use click or tone burst stimulus.However, in my research i wanna compare the new parameters of stimulus which called Maximum Length Sequences (MLS) with standard clicks (overall idea of my research objective)
